LC Rules

SECTION 1: MATCH PLAY RULES

1.1

 SCORE SHEET PLACEMENT

In Lagger’s Choice, the winner of the lag is always placed in the Shooter #1 position on the score sheet.

1.2

 WINNER OF THE LAG

The winner of the lag must either:

  1. Pick the game format to be played (8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball, or Fast 8).
    1. In some cases the game formats may be less than these four mentioned. For example: It is possible for a local league operator or tournament director to hold a Lagger's Choice format with only 8-ball and 9-ball as the possible game format choices. Or, possibly only 9-ball and 10-ball, etc;
  2. Take the break.

Which ever the winner of the lag chooses, the loser of the lag gets the other option.  So, for example, if the winner of the lag chooses to "Take the Break" then the loser of the lag gets to pick the game and vice versa.

If the winner of the lag chooses to pick the game format, he/she cannot get credit for a rackless match, even though he/she is in the Shooter #1 position on the score sheet.

1.3

 HOW TO ACHIEVE RACKLESS MATCH

The only way to score a rackless match in Lagger's Choice is:

  1. Win the lag.
  2. Choose to break the rack INSTEAD OF PICKING THE GAME FORMAT.
  3. Shut out your opponent without committing a foul on any of your breaks.

1.4

 ADDITIONAL RULES

All other NAPA game format rules apply to the game chosen after the lag.
